A two-minute test
Rigaud or Champaigne?
ArtStudy players mixed these two up 5 times in the last 90 days. One clue is usually all it takes.

Hyacinthe Rigaud
Rigaud paints state portraiture at full volume — swirling ermine and velvet, a column and a curtain behind, silk stockings below, and a face kept sober amid all the pomp.

Philippe de Champaigne
Champaigne paints French austerity — cardinals and nuns in cool grey and red against plain grounds, still hands, unsparing likeness and a Jansenist plainness.
